Serendipitous discovery of a bright narrow line X-ray galaxy
Abstract
I report on the discovery of a bright (∼0.15 counts s -1, ROSAT band) serendipitous X-ray source in the ROSAT PSPC field of the cataclysmic variable EP Dra. The apparent optical counterpart shows the required optical characteristics of a Narrow Line X-ray Galaxy (NLXG) with a redshift of ∼0.107. The X-ray luminosity can not be explained by starbursts. The H β luminosity is ∼10 41 erg s -1.
